Inspirational: Papaoutai by Stromae

While watching this video I became mesmerized. First of all I loved how their communication was through dance! That right there was pretty freaking awesome. And isn't that such a truth. Here we are as parents trying to raise our children how to dance in this crazy world. There are moves that need to be made, but you can't just tell your children how to do these moves. You must know how to live them, speak them, create them. Teaching someone a dance is done by example, it is a partnership, there must be communication and action. You must first learn to dance your very own dance and allow for the child to learn and then dance in their own beautiful way. They take what you have discovered and mastered and in return create masterpieces of themselves.

Isn't it too often that even though we are right there at home, we can allow for other things to distract our attention. This poor boy is doing whatever he can think of to help grasp the attention of his father but the father never moves. His body is present but tall he important things are missing. There is no communication, no examples, no dance moves and after a while the son begins to loose the beautiful and unique moves that already existed and then becomes lost in the trance.

I feel it is so important that we dance, we show our children that life is beautiful, challenging, ever-changing, but always in motion creating new and exquisite masterpieces. It is our responsibility to show our children what we are made of. Show them who we are and the beauty that fills each one of us. Our life is our dance, our expression, our art. How dare us get lost in the trance never taking a moment to enjoy the movement and flow that is ever so inspiring and majestic. How dare we allow for our children to become a victim to the mundane that life can become.

I love in the video that the boy goes out and he dances alone. He already had his moves all along. They were unique and his.  He had his own dance played out and then after he had tried all that he felt he could, his moves faded and his talents were gone hidden inside the trance.

We are filled with divine dance moves waiting to be expressed. Talents waiting to be witnessed. Let us not rob our children of such magic. Get out there and dance.

**Here is the translation if you would like to know what they are saying. The video speaks for itself, no words needed but I liked knowing what was being said.**

Tell me where he's from Finally I'll know where I'm going Mommy says when you really look for something You always end up finding it.
She says he's never very far That he very often goes to work Mommy says working is good Much better than having bad company/guidance Isn't that true?
Where is your daddy? Tell me where is your daddy! Without even needing to tell him, He nows what's going wrong. Right huh daddy! Tell me where you're hidden! It must be at least a thousand times I've counted my fingers
Where are you? Daddy where are you? Where are you? Daddy where are you? Where are you? Daddy where are you? Where are you? where are you Daddy where are you? (repeat)
What, believe it or not There'll be a day where we won't believe it anymore A day when we're all be a dad And from one day to the next we'll be gone

Will we be detestable? Will we be admirable? Gene-givers or geniuses? Tell us who makes irresponsible people Hey tell us who, yeah Everybody knows How to make babies But nobody knows How to make daddys
Mister know-it-all inherited that, yeah right. Must we suck him out of our thumb or what? Tell us where it's hidden, It must be… At least a thousand times we have bit our fingers Where are you? Daddy where are you?
